Review: Wings and Wounds – “Wings and Wounds”

January 10th, 2012

Sometimes it’s really surprising how some artists never seem to get the attention they deserve, despite having talent by the tons. Graves 33 is one of those in my eyes. Ever since he released Contrary to Popular Belief in 2009 I’ve kind of expected for him to get more noticed than he has. That album was among my favourites that year. Great productions and Graves 33 truly kills on the mic. After that I’m afraid to say that I kind of lost tracks of him. Two years later though this EP by Wings and Wounds pops up in my mailbox and I’m really happy to see that Graves 33 is back, this time together with a producer called Sarx. What we get is six tracks of hardhitting underground hip hop. I might have hoped for a bit more varied productions, but all in all it’s all good. This EP is a prologue to an upcoming full length which I’m, after hearing this, looking forward to a lot. You can also find this record available as a Name Your Price download here.
